On Mothers Day, Sunday, May 9th, 2021, a tragedy struck. 13-year-old girl, Tristyn Bailey, was murdered by 14-year-old Aiden Fucci. Both were young teenagers who lived in Florida. Tristyn was reported missing Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
Aiden Fucci said he planned to murder someone. An eighth-grader, who was in a dating relationship with Aiden, told police that the boy “frequently” talked about killing people. He always carried a knife and bragged to his friends that he planned on killing someone with it. He even shared that he was going to do it in a wooded area.
After the discovery of the body, the boy’s parents spoke with him in an interview room at the sheriff’s station. Upon being told by his mother that Tristyn was dead, he responded, “How is it my problem?” She told him he was the last person to be seen with the girl. It had been earlier reported that, after he was taken for questioning by deputies, Aiden’s mother had hand-washed a pair of her son’s jeans. During their conversation that was recorded in the interview room, he told her he had been wearing the jeans the night before. She asked him if there was anything on them and clarified, in a whisper, that he had said, “Blood.”
The Florida teenage victim was stabbed 114 times, with 49 of those wounds sustained on her hands and arms. The killer's knife broke at some point after stabbing it into her skull. Aiden was arrested and was originally charged with second-degree murder, but the charge was upgraded because of the severity of the crime On May 27, though, the charge was upgraded to first-degree murder due to the severity of the crime.
A resident who lived in the area found the body around 6 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office said that Tristyn was found, clothed, in a wooded area. The investigators said that Aiden even posted on his Snapchat story a photo of himself doing the peace sign in a cop's vehicle and saying “Hey guys has anybody seen Tristyn lately.” This behavior possibly indicates that he was “proud” of the horrifying act he did and was not concerned about the tragedy that happened to Tristyn Bailey.
