This Christmas season we are all likely going to have a little bit more free time than usual. Due to Covid, the usual gatherings with friends and family that might happen probably will not happen this year. This free time is perfect for getting cozy and watching a good movie. I have made a list of ten movies that may be fun for you to watch this Christmas. Get some hot cocoa and a blanket and sit down to enjoy a movie!

It’s a Wonderful Life

Quite possibly one of the best Christmas movies ever made, “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a must see if you have not already. This movie touches on the importance and beauty of life and how important people are to one another. With a general feeling of sadness and loneliness that is bound to be felt by many this Christmas this is a great movie to watch in order to see things from a new perspective.

Elf

Elf is the kind of lighthearted christmas comedy that can be watched again and again. Will Ferrel does an excellent job portraying a silly, oversized elf who has some interesting adventures in New York City.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a Christmas Story about a young boy that manages to fully capture the Christmas spirit. This movie is great for younger kids that are intrigued by the stories about Santa Claus and his Elves. There are also good morals that are expressed through this movie.

A Christmas Story

This movie is a classic and will likely get a few laughs out of you as it follows a number of different comedic dilemmas that a young boy faces. This is also a great movie to have in the background while doing another activity such as tree decorating because of how it is funny at times but lacks structure in it’s plot.

Home Alone

Home Alone is an amazing Christmas movie that everyone should watch. The movie finds the perfect balance of heartwarming family moments, comedy, and action. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat and is a great movie for the whole family to enjoy this Christmas.

Frosty the Snowman

This short animated movie is great to watch if you have little ones in your household. The movie does not require a very long attention span and has a fun and lighthearted plot around the adventures of Frosty the Snowman.

How the Grinch stole Christmas

The Grinch is another Christmas classic that has comedic as well as moral value. This movie is always fun to watch.

Miracle on 34th Street

This movie is an uplifting story about a young girl during christmas time. The original movie from 1947 is timeless and entertaining.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

This is a hilarious Christmas movie that is always a lot of fun to watch during Christmas. The movie is filled with entertaining slapstick comedy as well as even funnier satirical bits if you watch closely enough.

Little Women

This isn’t a Christmas movie but I watched this the other week and I liked it a lot. If you don’t like Christmas movies but you're still bored you should watch this. The captivating characters and beautiful cinematography make this movie a pleasure to watch.
